Institute of Business and Medical Careers Paralegal (Legal Assistant) Degree Program

As a legal assistant or paralegal, you should be a person qualified by education, training or work experience who is employed or retained by a lawyer, law office, corporation, governmental agency or other entity and who performs specifically delegated substantive legal work for which a lawyer is responsible. Your career in the legal profession should be both prestigious and rewarding. 

Program Highlights & Objectives

This program provides you with a solid foundation in the basics of law and an understanding of legal processes and procedures. You should learn how to use legal resources in order to assist in the preparation of legal pleadings, memoranda and documents. You should be able to conduct client and witness interviews, analyze and prepare legal documents, and perform other tasks to support attorneys or other businesses that utilize paralegals. An externship is required which introduces you to valuable workplace experience.
